One of Zaftigs most popular dish is “loaded latkes”, which are latkes (potato pancakes) with smoked salmon, dill, and sour cream. Very popular are also their homemade rugelach, bialys, babka, and macaroons.
The Latke Picatta is one of their many delicious meals! Grilled lemon-garlic chicken breast on top of a latke, roasted vegetables, and sautéed spinach with lemon caper sauce.
The chicken breast is moist and tender, the sauce is delicious and just the right quantity. The spinach and roasted vegetables served with it are nicely cooked.
Zaftigs was founded in 1997 (or “5757,” as the deli states on its website), and it quickly gained a reputation as one of Boston’s most well-known Jewish delis.
Since it first established in Brookline, the restaurant has also a location in Natick, Massachusetts.
Everything is on point, from the Zaftigs combo appetizers, to the Chicken Pot Pie, or the Barbecue Chicken Burger, to the Fanny Nanny. They even have a fantastic breakfast menu, and delicious omelets.
