The Old Schwamb Mill is a historic water-powered sawmill located in Arlington. It was built in the mid-19th century and was one of the last operating wood-turning mills in the country and is now preserved as a museum and educational center. The mill was primarily used in manufacturing piano casings, architectural woodwork, and picture frame moldings.
Today, visitors can learn about the mill’s history and see demonstrations of the mill’s machinery in action through 45-minute guided tours. In addition, the museum holds seasonal exhibitions and community events like concerts.
Visitors can also order and create frames in the centuries-old tradition of the mill.
